K.I.T. – or keep in touch

The handwritten pink-ink notes in my highschool yearbook and the farewell e-mails from former colleagues as I left to attend CBS both have one thing in common. All these correspondences end with some variation of "keep in touch". So, how do you keep in touch with an e-mail contact list that seems to grow exponentially?

Struggling to manage my unruly email box, I came upon Etacts. Launched this February, Etacts is a web-based application that currently only works with gmail accounts. It consolidates your contacts, builds a list of top contacts and reminds you who you've fallen out of touch with. For those who want to take it to the next level, Etacts can also consolidate your phone conversations and text messages with e-mail. Below is a summary of Etacts services (http://www.etacts.com/)

While this application is helpful, free and easy to use, a word of caution - it does require handing over your e-mail username and password. Also, Etacts is just one of a few newly launched e-mail management tools. If you are interested in other similar web-based applications check out Gist and Rapportive. So, be sure to keep in touch!
