Whats the business of the video of children on youtube?

What's the purpose to let your video on youtube become popular?

As mentioned in the lecture, "Charlie bit me" get more than 500M now. There is no product place in the clips, so whats the benefit for Charlie's parent after they upload the clip and keep maintain Charlie and his younger brother as a brand? (They even sell T-shirts, apps...)

The truth is, youtube's management team keep observing the potential to be famous clip. Charlie's parent agree to let youtube put on ads on the video. Every 1000 hits, they can get 16 penny. The number doesn't sound attractive? You can do the math!

* Below are other popular video upload by some parents that they have no idea that they can get so many money from the video!

Lily's Disneyland Surprise 12M hits

(this is not the original one, original "Not funny" has 39M hits)
