Shoppable Ad Integration Beneficial to Both Publications and Brands

Shoppable Ad Integration Beneficial to Both Publications and Brands

According to an article in Luxury Daily from November 7th, Conde Nast is integrating shoppable banner advertisements into it’s publications’ websites using Shopbeam’s AdShops technology. The shoppable banner advertisements are a new method for keeping readers engaged and allowing them to shop directly from an ad without leaving the magazine’s webpage. The ability to shop the ad is indicated by a small shopping bag icon located on the banner ad. When clicked, a pop up window opens allowing the user to view the product details and add the product to their shopping cart. In fact, consumers can shop multiple ads on multiple publications without losing the contents in their shopping cart.

Publications and brands have seen that “the standard banner ad is ineffective, and brands are beginning to innovate to get consumers to click and engage.” Through shoppable banner ads, brands see increased conversion rates and higher consumer engagement. In addition, the shoppable ads provide brands with helpful consumer data…”[Brands] also gain visibility into consumer behavior and interaction with ads, getting access to valuable customer metrics that can improve their advertising programs.” Publications benefit from keeping their readers engaged and on their sites longer as well as generating addition revenue from the ads.
