With the technologies such as RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and GPS, messages to customers can be in the right place at the right time.

RFID, in general, is used to track inventories and provide information on digital screen about what items customers picked up. For further uses of this technology, a store can offer key fobs, with RFID, to its best customers. As a customer walks into the store, the RFID technology will signal the arrival and transmit the data about today's promotions, and since the store has a history about the purchase of this member, the appropriate information will be transmitted to the customer according to individual interests. This application is quite important to the retail business as in-store experience has an influence on the purchase from customers.

In regard to the GPS technology, local businesses may be included in the map shown on the touch screen in a cab. This could help add some advantages to local stores in the area with tough competion.
