Google's Universal Gadgets

Web site publishers are now able to use small bits of code from Google to add applications directly to their websites. Google maps, calendars, etc. are available to users by simply going to a special site and copying the code. This functionality promotes the use of the web vs. user's individual desktop software. It makes the process of installing programs relatively seemless for users and allows more sharing and personalization on the internet.
