I know where you are!!

Foursquare allows users to share their location through their mobile devices. Skyhook Wireless, a start-up that provides geolocation technology, is looking to expand the location trend beyond these services to any individual application on your phone.

The development of apps raises the question of just how ubiquitous location-sharing will be, and whether brands will look to connect with customers on their own or use networks like Foursquare or Twitter

As more Web services and app developers integrate location services, the market for location applications is growing increasingly crowded.

But by offering its software development kits to app developers, Skyhook is making it easier for other apps to enter the location race.

A representative for Foursquare reiterated, via email, that “The fact that there are so many competitors entering this space is just proof that the future of social networking is location-based.”
