A recent
article outlines how a Kalamazoo, MI student has been sued for libel in the amount of $750,000,000 by a local towing company because he created a Facebook group titled "Kalamazoo Residents against T&J Towing," a group aimed the local towing outfit. Apparently T&J has lost quite a bit of money as a result of the group, which boasts over 4000 members.
Is this the new protest? The new community congress? It seems the power of social media has the potential to effect companies in the corporate, offline world.
