Nordstrom revamps mobile ads to boost conversion

I was browsing my favorite magazine on my iPhone the other night and saw an ad for a pair of shoes that I liked at Nordstrom. I clicked on the ad and was suddenly browsing the product line directly from the banner ad. Much to my surprise, I was never taken to another browser site to browse; the experience was so seamless that it sparked my curiosity.

According to a post written by Fashion Notes on August 28th, Nordstrom recently redesigned their mobile banner ads so that when customers click on a product in the ad, they are taken directly to the product page for browsing. From there, customers can continue browsing, just as they would on the store's website.

As Fashion Notes indicates, "the idea behind this strategy is that if consumers don’t lose their original page, they are more inclined to continue browsing and ultimately make a purchase." Just another reason why Nordstrom is one of my favorite places to shop online!
