"Write Now: Beginner Copywriting Tips for Effective Online Marketing"

In this article, Barry Feldman of Feldman Creative shares some copywriting tips for beginning copywriters.

1) " It’s time to face the fear."

No matter what you have been telling yourself, you can write. Just get started.

2) "Slop something down."

Just write. Worry about editing later.

3) "Talk to me."

"Write as if you’re talking. Imagine you’re writing to just one person, a good friend."

4) "Understand the reader."

If you understand the reader, you will be better able to write something they enjoy.

5) "Strive for clarity."

Be clear.  Use your words wisely.

6) "Stress action."

Don't bored your audience, make sure that you use words that stress action. The example Feldman gives is the word "Hit".

7) "Offer evidence."

Make sure that you can back up what you say.

8) "Can you be specific?"

Being specific will help readers really visualize what you are trying to say.

9) "Write with rhythm."

According to Feldman, "Readers are bound to get more engaged when your writing has a nice rhythm to it."

10) "Tell your readers where to go."

With whatever you write, make sure that you tell readers what you want them to do.

11) "Write irresistible headlines."

The Huffington Post is great at this.  They really know how to create titles that really keep readers' eyes.  Try to emulate their catchy titles.

12) "Write now."

Good writing takes practice.  A lot of it.  Start now so that you can give yourself the best chance of becoming a good writer.
