Privacy on the internet – does it exist?

Privacy on the internet – does it exist? I think it is clear in recent years, and in particular recent weeks that the privacy of the individual is disappearing if not already gone. This lack of privacy is what drives digital marketing, the easy access and the accessibility to the consumer and all that s/he likes. As discussed in the New York Times article We Want Privacy, but Can’t Stop Sharing, the author discusses the vulnerability of the individual in this age of technology, for everyone – the latest celeb nude selfie scandal proves no one is safe.

The problem as discussed is that privacy is different for everyone. This problem is also a problem for marketers, they need to figure out what privacy means for these varied consumers and how to approach them given their personalized views.
