Conde Nast Takes Over YouTube

Best way for a magazine publisher like Conde Nast to gain traction among its growing millennial following? Recruit YouTube stars to create original content and air on Conde Nast properties. In return, the publisher will be the exclusive rep for the stars' digital deals, including ad sales for their content on YouTube. Conde Nast is looking to sign 5-10 YouTube stars who will be the lead digital contributor for a specific Conde Nast segment, including beauty, fashion, food, fitness, music and sports. First up is make-up artist Kandee Johnson whose YouTube channel has 2.4 million subscribers and 262.9 views. Conde Nast will make money by selling sponsorships, TV shows and films, and ads through original programming with Johnson and other YouTube stars.
