Facebook announces a reduction of overly promotional posts

The quantity of ads featured on Facebook has increased lately, and it seems that users are getting tired of advertisers trying to push their content. After confirming the problem in recent surveys, Facebook has decided to take action and start monitoring Page posts and avoid that firms publish extremely promotional content. According to the survey results, people want to see less of the following type of posts,
  1. Posts that solely push people to buy a product or install an app
  2. Posts that push people to enter promotions and sweepstakes with no real context
  3. Posts that reuse the exact same content from ads
Until now only paid advertising was monitored, but there was no control over the posts on Pages, so users were receiving ungratifying content from the Pages they liked. The initiative doesn’t entail any change in the number of ads, but an increase in the quality of the content.
