Are Cookies a good or bad thing
Google annouced that is phasing out third party cookies in the next two weeks.
It was announced that Google will no longer support third party cookies on chrome. Apple already blocks third party cookies since 2017. Cookies are a tool used by many vendors to track down the behavior of people who have visited their website. The main explanation for that change is to provide more security and privacy to Chrome users. This is a good thing to end user consumers but a bad thing for the companies using this tools.
Some companies are arguing that this action will favor Google since they have other means to identify track down their users. On the other hand it gives the regular person way more control over their data.
Privacy is a hot topic now and it will be hot for the net years and little by little the internet companies are adjusting their products to answer societies urge for more control and privacy and that is a good thing becuase it shows the level of maturity of the big tech companies.
