Almost two months ago Google announced that it was ready to roll-out mobile-first indexing.
This means that Google will use mobile websites first when indexing a site. This could affect SEO as those brands who are either not mobile-friendly or have different properties for mobile and desktop as Google will start to penalize those sites that do not have a mobile presence.
Google is responding to the trend of more and more people searching on their mobile devices. This is ultimately pushing marketers to always consider mobile as a way to communicate content to possible prospects.
It is interesting to see how regular consumers are moving more and more from desktop computers to more mobile, always accessible mediums (such as smart phones).
