YouTube has changed Broadway - What's next?

In a recent article, Mashable explains how YouTube has changed Broadway. Traditionally, casting calls for live theater were "in-person only," even when the TV & film industry have been accepting casting tapes for over 20 years. However, recently, larger productions are incorporating online auditions via YouTube to fill their cast. In fact, just as companies are recruiting their candidates through LinkedIn and Facebook, Broadway productions are beginning to use YouTube for talent research. They have also found that both promoting and documenting their performances on YouTube has allowed for a wider audience. It is interesting that online media is beginning to transform an industry that traditionally has resisted such interference. What could be next?

PROskore thinks that they have found a niche market that will transform the way people do business with each other. Just as producers are starting to look for stars on YouTube, PROskore thinks small companies or professionals will look for each other through PROskore. The premise is to build a professional profile that draws everything into one place - all the information you want about yourself that is currently on the web and more. Then, they rank you based on your connection, reputation, and social influence, and they match you with other professionals looking for your skill set.

The online space is definitely becoming a vital part of society. From Facebook to Twitter to YouTube to LinkedIn, will PROskore be the next standard in social media? It offers a powerful value proposition but currently lacks scalability. If it achieves critical mass it could potentially transform the way we do business.
