As e-commerce companies brainstorm ways to solve the 'last mile' delivery problem and how to position themselves to compete with the likes of Amazon, technology companies are seeking to bridge the gap between the size of the warehouse and how to operate efficiently.
One such company is inVia Robotics, which recently raised $20 million in Series B to boost the "commercial deployment of inVia's Picker robots and cloud-based Robotics-as-a-Service management system in warehouses as necessitated by scaling e-commerce market". The bot is positioned to collaborate with humans to eliminate the need to walk around a warehouse, so workers can focus on more complex tasks.
