My wife was recently looking for a new pressure cooker, which she uses to cook lentils. So it was rather scary when we found out about a woman who had the FBI appear at her door because she searched for information on pressure cookers on Google.
Given all the attention on online "privacy" these days, it is interesting to see how this story came about. Did the whole family use the same browser and Google account? And of course I'm sure we'd all like to know how to split up our family's searches to avoid this unfortunate situation happening to us.
An update to the story claims that it was not the FBI, but her employer who alerted the police of suspicious searches. Of course, that's rather scary as well...
