Doodle
I just used this website to find a common meeting time for 7 people and it worked quite effectively.
The way it works is:
Create a poll.
Forward the link to the poll to the participants.
Follow online what the participants vote for.

Not going to be the next biggest thing, but still is a handy tool!
You can do this with Outlook currently, although it might not be as intuitive. Basically, you can send emails to your invite list with a choice of options much like when you get an invite you can choose "Accept, tentative, decline".
