Bill Clinton urging use of ad industry to promote and address worlds issues

Bill Clinton called on the ad industry for creative messaging and advertisements that address world problems and engage the public with information and energy needed to address issues around the world from environmental to political.

I agree that digital marketing and creative advertising, particularly in areas such as social media or crowdfunding (best combined) can be used to raise awareness and support for larger issues. Social media itself can be used as a platform to raise funds as well as awareness.

Unilever is tapping into the Facebook masses to aid its Sustainable Living plan to provide 500 million people safe drinking water through donations to individual Waterworkers that deliver Unilever water purification products. The advertising improves Unilever's brand, probably positively influence it's sales and ultimately is a good way to address a global issue.
