"Right to be forgotten" battle continues in Europe

After the, for many people surprising, outcome of the privacy rule that enables people to request the removal of information about them on the internet. Lots of things have been said about this rule, but apparently the battle comes in a new stage now

Google intends to only delete the results at the respective European Google sites (like Google.nl, Google.de, etc), but to keep all the information available on Google.com. Since this web address is used by most users anyway, the impact of the new rule will be minimized

European Union officials, startled by this plan, invited representatives of all main search engine companies (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo) to discuss the topic. It is interesting to see how the companies react on the new round of discussion about this complicated topic
