Have any of you been used by a retail company to help them advertise their product via Facebook? So there is a men's e-retail clothing company called Bonobos (http://www.bonobos.com/) that is targeting social media to help spread its user base. Bonobos was founded in 2007 by a few UVA grads; Bonobos has no brick and mortar stores. Everything (until a recent deal with Nordstrom) has to be purchased online (they offer free shipping on all delivery and returns). The other day they sent me a coupon via gmail for 30% off. I clicked on it and it said to check my Facebook account as they discount password was sent there. When I went to FB to retrieve the coupon, it then post to my entire network that I am fan of Bonobos and offers others the coupon as well if they want it.
Not sure if they have to pay FB for this, I do not think so... if not, seems like a good approach and better than paying Google.
