NFC a new frontier in Mobile Advertising

According to an article published on businessinsider.com by Arden Pennell “Finally, Here's A Way To Make Serious Money In Mobile Publishing” (below the link to the article)”, time for effective and lucrative mobile advertising has come.
Thanks to a new technology called NFC (near-field communication), just moving your device toward a given location, a seat cushion or nearby poster, the offer pops up on the Smartphone screen and users can immediately take advantage of it or refuse the offer (e.g. “a free song while waiting for a movie to start, a Starbucks coupon while killing time at the airport, or the latest Malcolm Gladwell essay while waiting for the bus”).

I think that this new technology opens a new horizon in mobile advertising because it  revolutionize traditional advertising making its efficacy quantitatively measurable. In fact, thanks to NFC it will be possible to track how many people point at a given billboard or poster and how many customers actually take advantage of the offer.
Morevoer, the author says that “finally mobile publishers have the possibility to cash in on the growing scale of mobile, always-on consumption habits, and consumer migration to the second screen during TV or desktop viewing”.
