According to the Video Advertising Bureau, which is a trade group representing TV networks and distributors, the topics that dominate Twitter is TV shows and other television events. A lot of the talk have been the demise of the traditional TV ecosystem. The Twitter statistics seem to suggest that TV content remains relevant.
Ad-supported TV topics were 53% of posted comments, and programming from 47 networks that were shown during prime time made it into Twitter’s top 10. This speaks to the value of live content, including news and sports event.
While digital marketing is the new new medium, maybe sometimes the best way to advertise is just to show an ad during Sunday Night Football.
