Forbes titled, “The Shocking Truth About Digital Marketing” talks about how
there are many businesses that do not have defined strategies in regard to
their digital marketing efforts. A study done by Smart Insights shows that 4 in
10 businesses do not have a defined digital marketing strategy which results in
billions of dollars wasted. By not having a defined strategy, businesses
experience incorrect marketing channels, budget allocations to low organic
rankings, website engagement, ROI and quality leads. Moreover, since they do
not have clearly defined target audiences, they are simply wasting their money
away since it leads to ineffective marketing campaigns and results. By not
having a well thought out strategy, these businesses are left in a vulnerable
position since they are at the mercy of agencies that can easily mislead them.
As we learned in
class, it is important for us to list out what are marketing goals are and to
develop KPI’s to measure the effectiveness of those goals. By having a deeper
understanding of the goals, it will enable us to effectively select which
marketing channels are appropriate for businesses invest in and where the future
trends are going. Businesses will experience more quality leads, higher ROI,
website engagement and organic rankings and correct budget allocations. This
will enable businesses to save money in the long run. Therefore, it is
extremely important to have a digital marketing strategy. We’ll get our hands on this as we work on our
group projects.
