This week, Twitter, known for it's short messages read in-app, announced their acquisition of Revue, a newsletter-building software akin to the likes of MailChimp. In the announcement posted by Twitter, the VP of Product writes that Twitter's goal "is to make it easy for [writers] to connect with their subscribers, while also helping readers better discover [them] and their content." This sounds very idyllic for authors to be able to connect with their followers in their email inbox as email is still the most effective form of advertising with an astounding "3,800% ROI". It will be interesting to see how writers take advantage of this new ability and, on the flipside, how welcome their audience is to more and more emails.
