The growing business of mobile Internet advertising. Android challenges Iphone.
It looks pretty clear that the business of mobile Internet advertising is actually disputed by only two contenders: iPhone and Android. The figures released by the ad tracking company AdMob on Q4 2009 show that these platforms already have 88% of the market. The iPhone still leads with 54% in October to December. This percentage remains unchanged in relation to the previous three months. The Apple system secured major mobile advertising growth in Q1 to Q2, from 51% to 65%, however, Apple dropped from the second to the third quarter .The most relevant fact in the Q4 has been the significant rise of Android in business. The system has almost doubled its share in just three months, growing from 14% to 27%. Hence, this figure already represents half of the IPhone. Throughout 2009, the figures of the Google platform have been replicated. Android has been stealing market share from Blackberry, which began the year with 20% and has been left with 10 %. For its part, Windows Mobile OS has plummeted in the segment of mobile Internet ads, dropping from 12% to 3%, according collects TechCrunch.
