If the Apple Watch is as popular as some analysts expect it to be (IMO a big "IF" that will depend largely on the accessories available and bundling pricing strategies at retail) it could have a major impact on the local SEO strategies of companies.
Jayson DeMers, a contributor at Forbes, wrote a great article looking at some of the ways in which the wide acceptance of Apple's new technology could affect the SEO landscape.

I found these 3 points of his to be especially salient:
1) SmartWatches encourage voice activation in place of typing. Because Apple's Siri utilizes Bing to populate results instead of Google, Bing may become a much more serious partner that companies will need to consider.
2) Apple Maps will be the default map program on the Apple Watch, and the app's more widespread use could make it more important for companies to ensure that their information is up-to-date on the third party directories that Apple Maps pulls data from (such as Yelp!).
3) Mobile coupons at retail will become more common because of the increased immediacy offered to consumers on a wrist (and thus constantly visible) device.
What do you think - will the Apple Watch be a hit? Will companies need to adjust their SEO strategies to accomodate Apple Watch wearers? Or will more traditional forms of mobile search continue to dominate local SEO strategy?
