NBC has had slower ad sales for their programming in 2014, but what is most surprising is that NBC is seeing
slower ad sales for the Super Bowl. This year
the Super Bowl will of course feature ads from traditional buyers like
automotive companies and beverage companies in addition to "about a dozen new advertisers... especially in digital commerce and technology" (Seth
Winter, exec VP-sales and sales marketing, NBC Sports Group and NBC
Universal News Group via Adage.com).
Adage.com is charting all the
advertisers for the Super Bowl on their website as well as which agency
is creating the ad and what the buy is. So far the unexpected advertisers are:
Mophie- the maker of smartphone accessories
Wix.com- A web development platform.
