Lexus has announced plans to air live tv ads during “LateNight with Jimmy Fallon” on NBC. The ads
will air on Thursday nights until October 10th and will be
influenced by viewers’ ideas, which can be submitted through #LexusIS. The ads
will be based on the theme “It’s your move after dark.” Improv performers will be featured in the ads
in order to incorporate the viewer generated content and the ads will run
during the final commercial break of the show.
This seems like the latest in companies’ efforts to interact
with users in real time, integrating social media and traditional advertising. It will be interesting to see how successful Lexus’
new advertising approach will be with consumers and if this concept will take
off as the next big trend in digital advertising.
