Mobile gaming is not just for kids anymore; advertisers should know that

Mobile gaming has been increasing lately especially as a consequence of social distancing. And this increase attracts the attention of advertisers. Brands are adjusting their media plans to account for the massive increase in digital media this year. So having a good understanding of mobile gaming users is very relevant.

A recent study with 1,200 mobile users shows who mobile game players are. Although one's intuition might lead to the believe that gamers are mostly male and young, the results show otherwise. Gaming is universal, when it comes to gender and age. Half of the American population plays mobile games once or several times a day, the split in gender is 50/50 and the age group is wide. In addition, 9 out of 10 respondents said that they would watch an ad to get rewards in game over paying for them.

These results are important to advertisers: digital marketing is not limited to social media and search engines. Mobile gaming is an alternative channel to be considered that can have a relevant outreach.
