Picard vs Skywalker driving Uber Eats sales

Uber Eats has released a new ad campaign to appeal to all sci-fi fan bases that features Sir Patrick Stewart and Mark Hamill in a friendly rivalry. A series of short films is being released to promote Uber Eats with both actors taking part in several arguments or games against one another. The company is hoping to utilize these unexpected celebrity pairings to influence customers and increase brand awareness. George Jefferys, head of marketing for Uber Eats in the U.S. and Canada, stated the campaigns goal is to ‘surprise and delight audiences across the world by bringing together iconic, yet seemingly unlikely duos.’ Uber Eats, along with other food delivery services, has already seen a huge growth surge during the pandemic as more people are staying in and ordering their meals versus venturing out. Because of this, however, the food delivery market is becoming more saturated with businesses hoping to gain their own share of the growth. The top food delivery services are fighting to keep their market share and push for more app downloads than their competitors and are looking toward more creative marketing tactics to promote their brands.
