Google vs Facebook vs Apple vs Linkedin vs...

The folks over at PayScale completed their Top Tech Employer Comparison and the results may or may not be interesting.

In terms of starting salary, Microsoft actually comes out on top at $91,500 with Salesforce coming in a close second  at $88,900. When it comes to someone mid-career, defined by Payscale as 10+ years of experience, Google has the top salary at $158,000 and again Salesforce comes in a close second at $150,000.

But as Charlie Brosens mentioned earlier, some companies that may not stack up salary wise, make up for it in perks. Stock options, free drinks, casual dress, and pets at work are all perks that are mentioned by employee of these tech companies.

Last, although almost all employees report high stress levels (between 65% to 75%) with Salesforce leading the way, almost all of them also report being satisfied with their jobs. So either they are loving what they do, or the high salaries and perks are compensating for all the stress.

See the overly dramatic infographic after the break.

This is a great article. It was interesting to see Google ranked third with starting salary but then first with employees with 10+ years of experience. I would assume that they feed off of their competition to make sure they receive the best of the best. Early on in many employees career I would assume that Google brand makes sure they get the best but after 10+ years the salary begins to make more of an impact for employee’s decision making. Lastly, the one problem with the data is that it takes into account all the employees that are outside the United States. For example Apply has one third of its employees located outside the United States which I would assume make far less.
