Will sitting front row during NY Fashion Week be a coveted privilege of the past? With digital media transforming the landscape of fashion, it may very well be. Thanks to live streaming and instant updates via Twitter from fashion bloggers, celebs and editors, a regular fashionista can get instant access without an invite. Moreover, tech savvy designers are now looking to the digital show format to expand their reach and enable overbooked editors, buyers and celebs instant access to the shows with the click of a button. For example, KCD, an international fashion production agency, recently partnered with top designer Prabal Gurung to launch online only shows with several additional features to enable maximum accessibility behind the scenes. These online shows are equipped with high resolution photos, interviews with the designers and behind-the-scene footage of hair and makeup, which many attendees who attend live shows don't get. Now Anna Wintour and I can have the same real-time experience checking out Prabal Gurung's latest goods. That's pretty cool, and very fashion forward.
