Tadpole
is an interactive website that serves
the needs of schools (Pre and nursery schools), parents and teachers.
While
the most typical complaints from parents of toddlers (myself included, a mum of
a 4.5-year-old daughter) are – what do the kids do? Do they like their food?
Anything embarrassing interesting experience or breakthroughs that parents
should know? Tadpole provides almost instant information to anxious and busy
parents in a very user-friendly and completely paperless way. A daily
individualized report about the child on meal consumption, daily activity,
special reminders and most impressively of all, photos. Tadpole constructs a
real-life library of children’s daily activities while parents are away from
them. Parents feel staying connected, understood, respected and most
importantly engaged in the school operations.
For
teachers and school directors, tadpole helps to classify and record information
so that a child’s growth development can be revisited on a chronological order
for further study or reference. In addition, routine work that is usually done
manually, attendance taking, newsletter etc are conducted in a more efficient
manner.
Tadpole
chooses emails, rather than apps as the major primary communication means as it
seeks to reach the biggest number of users across different age groups, parents
and family members. Email is used as a landing page with specific categories
that parents (or families) can further click for more information.
Most
importantly, while serving as an important communication tool between the
school and parents, it is also an ideal marketing platform where parents make
comments and recommendations about their own schools as being more professional
and focused. And of course, to excel in the market with good comments, you’d better be a really child-centered school
first.
