A blog for students of Professor Kagan's Digital Marketing Strategy course to comment and highlight class topics. From the various channels for marketing on the internet, to SaaS and e-commerce business models, anything related to the class is fair game.

Crap I just posted something someone else posted
So, I'm an idiot and wrote a post about what was just posted. That said, in an attempt to make amends and in order to pad my abysmal numbers on this blog I'll throw up another one. I recently read about a new product YouTube has released called Insight. I was just playing around with it and it's pretty cool. It lets video posters track things like what regions of the world watched your video, evaluate viewing trends and analyze other tracking metrics. It's similar to the tracking that Google Analytics offers Google advertisers except for video. It looks like right now its targeted for smaller "this is my frat brother in a dress" kind of video producers but the implications are far greater as it will allow marketers testing video content on YouTube to track and analyze its videos and possibly it will eventually YouTube to move closer to being able to successfully monetize its content. Regardless, it's cool to see whose been watching your videos and where although I'm guessing it'd be cooler if there were more than 15 views.
