Many people think doing digital marketing
should be easy as long as you can create good ideas.
This is partially true. Indeed, you can set
up a website by yourself. If you are willing to learn programming and computer
software such as photoshop for few months, the works will be even better.
However, there are so many other details
that will drive you crazy. Worked in an ad agency, I handled so many trifles
everyday. List some here:
1 1. Launching a website, sometimes
you have to check for different website viewers, start from i.e. 5 to 8, firefox,
safari..and so on. If there is bugs, sometimes you have to “CREATE” different
version website (or landing page) ! (then need to double check the
content/format all over again and again…)
2 Every main website allow
different format of the banners. Resizing is not the biggest difficulty.
Sending the one to the right media/website will drive you crazy. For example,
for Campaign A, I’ll provide a, b, c these 3 different concept banners in
1.2.3.4.5.6.7 different sizes. For google, I’ll provide a,c,d,e these 4 concepts banner in
1.3.5.7.9.10 size.
2. Tracing the performance
and switching banner will also drive you crazy (again)
3 3. Writing email is also
difficult. The same massage for different group of consumer should be
different. Not only because their behaviors is different but also their status
is different. For example, writing the new benefit for creditcard cardholder,
we should talk in more polite way when talking to Platinum/Diamond (whatever it
is) cardholder. For normal business cardholder, we can talk in more causal way.
