I believe that Twitter acquiring analytics firm, BackType, is brilliant. Twitter will be able can offer its services to marketers who are looking for data on the reach of their tweets, the web traffic driven from tweets, and the customer segments re-tweeting, to name a few. Its definitely a step in the right direction, Twitter will soon grab a portion of the marketing spend on social media marketing campaigns as marketers get more insight about the results of their tweet activity.
