I was shocked to check my mailbox today and find that the bank which handles our corporate account (in India) has started offering promotions in a new currency – Google AdWords credits. If my company signs up for one of the bank’s new schemes, they reward us with advertising credits from Google.
In a country like India, where computer usage is only getting pervasive now, this is a step in the right direction. Marketers must realize soon that there are non-traditional ways to propagate their brands. And with a large retail bank helping push the envelope, Google is sure to be successful in India.

Very interesting.
I think from a digital marketing standpoint, this is an ingenious move by Google;
We should all think outside the box and (either on behalf of our own companies or our clients' companies) consider "buying" things in trade, offering our own products/services instead of currency.
All new products/services, especially those that are potentially "disruptive" struggle most with getting users to change their routine enough to give this new product/service a try. What's brilliant about this Google example is that businesses in India will now almost be compelled to try Google Ads in a way that they would probably have not opted to do themselves.
We can all learn a lot from this example! Thanks for sharing.
