The Rise of Community Support Networks
Community Support Site ‘Get Satisfaction’ raises $10MM today on Series B funding led by InterWest Partners and followed on by Azure, OATV and First Round Capital, bringing the total funding for the company to $21 million.
Companies are increasingly turning to community support sites such as ‘Get Satisfaction’, ‘Lithium’ and ‘Telligent’ to have conversations with their customers, wherever those customers may be. These support sites operate under the premise that communications between brands and customers should be open and transparent, and provide companies with even more options to engage customers across multiple points of contact. They offer potential avenues to provide companies with leads and brand awareness campaigns by integrating these support sites to the company’s main service sites. For example, the Get Satisfaction Facebook Fan page integration reroutes all conversations through the company’s main hub.
Additionally, ‘Get Satisfaction’ has multiple forum components that allow customers to begin discussions in one of four ways, Ask A Question, Share an Idea, Report a Problem or Give Praise. Companies can set up a Get Satisfaction page for free, and pay a monthly fee to claim and moderate the page, starting at $19.00.
