Self-Sustaining Marketing

Based on a report by Business Insider, Apple reveals its marketing secret at the Federal court during the on-going Apple vs Samsung patent trial. The secret is that Apple doesn’t need any paid marketing when it launches a new product. Instead the company benefits from the buzz that the media and business circles create for the new product.

Today, we are witnessing this self-sustained marketing experience. The anticipation of the upcoming IPhone 5 is a top-news story almost on all media channels. The consumers are being bombarded with update after update. Everyone is trying to match their imaginary IPhone prototype with information and pictures leaked from various sources. This is nothing but a self-sustained marketing campaign for free.

Apple product launches have always been sensational marketing campaigns since Steve Jobs introduced the original Macintosh in the 1984. Steve is not with us anymore but the momentum he created still moves forward the brand.
