Microsoft, Apple and Intel most recognized logos, says survey

As a guy who owns a book dedicated to the artful hood ornaments of antique and classic cars, I've always been a fan of logs.  Nowadays, the studies conducted show that Microsoft, Apple and Intel are the most recognized logos, according to a recent survey.  Comparitively, Linked-In and Pinterest were scarecly recognized (do you recall them offhand)?  This is a fun article, but it makes an excellent point. I wonder if the old rainbow Macintosh logo would be as recognizable as the new illuminated counterpart.

The interesting point in this article is to try to understand why those three companies are the most recognized? And why not google and Facebook and others?
Apple Inc. is established on April 1, 1976 in Cupertino, California, and incorporated January 3, 1977.
Intel Corporation, founded on July 18, 1968, is a portmanteau of Integrated Electronics
The company was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen on April 4, 1975. Microsoft is the world's largest software maker measured by revenues
All these companies that score the highest are among those that stay around the longuest ( founded between 1968 and 1976).
But soon after the top 3, it’s interesting to see Social media giants: Facebook with 78.8% of votes, Twitter with 78.8% and 47.9% Google.

Facebook is a social networking service and website launched in February 2004, owned and operated by Facebook, Inc.

Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey and launched that July
Google was first incorporated as a privately held company on September 4, 1998, and its initial public offering followed on August 19, 2004.
But conversely, only 7.8% of respondents confidently knew the LinkedIn logo, and a miserable 3.6%correctly identified Pinterest.
