New Chinese Phones to Hit the Market

Get ready for new Chinese phones to hit the market, but don't expect a big splash!

There are top 5 Chinese companies all competing for a share of the US smart phone market. Only problem is, the Chinese companies have always had a inability to effectively build a strong brand. However, these companies are taking different approaches to the market to emulate current market competitors. Will this actually work out for them? Take a look at my favorite competitors below and their take on how to make it to the big leagues.

Lenovo: Lenovo has done an excellent job building a strong brand with the popular Lenovo Yoga laptop. Lenovo has already purchased Motorola to buy its way into the smart phone market, but we'll be waiting to see if they can bring Motorola back to its formal glory. That would call for heavy investments into R&D to bring Motorola even close to the level of iPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones.

ZTE: ZTE is breaking heavily into the branding scene. Recently, it was announced that ZTE would be sponsoring the New York Knicks. Will this lavish endorsement deal help them get out of their handset market? Also, everyone wants to now if their alignment with the Knicks will help them get out of the negative press with their suspicious dealings with the Chinese government.

Xiaomi: This newcomer is moving to make big waves this season. It has buzz similar to Apple, but has resulted in the establishment of several copy-cat firms, hoping to do the same. However, Xiaomi reportedly shipped 17.3 million units in the last quarter and is beginning to acquire customers outside of the Chinese market. This could be the one to watch out for!
