Don’t Be Married to Your Digital Marketing

The world of “Generation Y” also known as the “Millennial’s” is a landscape of immediate gratification.  People can barely unplug themselves from the digital world long enough to actually live in the real world.  New social creations seem to pop up daily like Twitter, Instagram, Vine and SnapChat eliminating consumer loyalty.  Consumers bounce from app to app like a promiscuous Madonna in the late 80’s.  So in this world of ADD ridden consumers why would you focus your digital marketing strategy to any given medium?

Don’t get married to your digital marketing strategies; play the field.  Acquire a resilient and adaptable mindset to digital marketing.  Be willing to explore the “let’s not move too fast” and when things don’t work out use the “its not you its me” tactic and get out.  Your consumers are all over the place and so shall you.

Mix it up.  The days of television, ad space and print are over and thank goodness-they were expensive.  Traditional advertising is being replaced with social experiences, viral videos and the data on both.  Flexibility is key. Give your strategies time to develop before you plunge a lot of time and cash into them.  The world of digital marketing is expanding daily so be the ultimate playboy or playgirl and don’t commit too early, if ever.
