What's happening in China's biggest internet company?


iIt's the nvention of a mobile instant massaging app – WeChat. WeChat’s core functions allow users to send text, image or audio messages. The audio message function is similar to an application from WhatsApp Inc. WeChat’s photo-sharing function called “Moments” operates with a timeline and cover-photo layout similar to that of Facebook Inc. With WeChat user grow to at least 400 million by the end of this year, providing the chance for Tencent to boost revenue by adding mobile e-commerce and location-based advertising. WeChat is expected to replace online games as a new growth driver in the coming years. In 2010, the company embarked on an aggressive investment strategy intended to strengthen advertising revenues, targeting online search, security and video, and e-commerce. WeChat now has more than 10 million overseas Chinese users and the company is investing heavily for wechat's usage by American users.
