Digital Marketing Is Not For Everyone


I found an interesting reflection about the disadvantages of digital marketing. We all know the benefits of digital marketing and what a good digital marketing plan can do. But it is true that digital marketing is not something that you can do overnight and requires a relevant amount of resources: money, time… In the following points I will discuss the points that make digital marketing a tool that doesn’t fit every business:
  • There is a lot of hard work: It takes a lot of hard work and failed attempts to find success through digital marketing
  • There is no magic button: There is no set formula and there are several strategies to follow (e-mail, mobile, SEM, SEO…) and not all of them work for everyone. You need to know your customers, their interests, needs and requirements in order to tailor these strategies to your business.
  • Learning never stops: Digital marketing is continuously evolving with new ideas and concepts. So, you have to be updated with the recent innovations and avoid being behind the industry.
  • Only consistency pays off: Once you have developed your strategy it is necessary to iterate and iterate and update it with lots of testing and measuring and tweaking.
  • Build your online image takes time: Brand building takes practice and perseverance because you need to engage with your audience and build your credibility taking a lot of time and effort.
In conclusion, digital marketing is not for everyone, is only for those willing to invest a considerable amount of resources that, at the end, usually pay off.
