"Shoppable" video is a format that focuses on integrating purchases directly from video, hoping to capitalize on the viewers immediate draw to the product through the video content. The platform has been tested by multiple firms and brands but has not always had the seamless transition needed to convert the view into a purchase.
Shopping on social platforms is already being utilized but the push to add video enables brands to combine advertising and purchasing into one. Brands like Revlon and Under Armour are already leveraging the capability with success and this trend will continue as firms are able to leverage the potential. It will enable shoppers to purchase multiple items without ever changing websites / platforms.
This is another step for brands to increase customer engagement and build stronger connections while increasing sales.
