Office Visit to Percolate

Percolate's goal is to become brands’ “System of Record”. Percolate is a software company that automates and centralizes key marketing tasks. Last Friday, I attended a TBG office visit to the Percolate offices in Soho. We were lucky enough to hear from the CEO, Noah, and he explained the problems that Percolate is solving for. As it stands, there is no software that operationalizes marketing – what Salesforce did for sales management. The current structure in marketing makes it that people costs are very high and that the work to output ratio is inefficient. The value propositions for their enterprise software include
  • Centralized data
  • “Governance” / brand consistency tool and an approval process
  • Reporting
A couple other things I found interesting are that:
  • The company is putting emphasis on design and UI. Their design team is relatively large. The reason is that theyre seeing that design has become increasingly important as a differentiator in the marketplace
  • As part of their mobile strategy, instead of having one application that fits all uses, they’re building several small, specific apps that can be used by various functions within an organization
  • They do not customize the software for brands. Noah made it clear that their goal is to build a product rather than a service. Building products to Noah means that they collect as much feedback as possible across the board and then build a more consistent final product.
