Pinterest to start monetizing its valuable audience

Pinterest, which just started to sell adds, could become the next big thing in social advertisement given its popularity within women. Women are the decision makers in most of the American families making them the perfect target of commercial campaigns. This coupled with the recent observed migration of young users towards photo-based social networks make Pinterest one of the most attractive places for brands and ecommerce to spend their marketing budgets.

A Report from Business Insider analyzing the different demographic trends of the mayor social networks reaches very interesting takeaways concerning Pinterest:

·      Increasing adoption: Adoption has increased a 40% in the last year reaching a 21% of total US adult audience.
·      Millennials audience rose from 25% to 33% since 2013, a greater adoption increase than Snapachat.
·      Pinterest is the most popular website among wealthiest consumers.

Although Europe is still a weak point, Pinterest is growing an amazing pace and could become a very serious competitor for Facebook and Google.
