Romeo Steals Hearts In New "Burberry" Ad
Romeo Beckham, the 12-year-old son of soccer star David Beckham and former Spice Girl and fashionista Victoria Beckham, stars in a new holiday ad for Burberry that is making waves across the internet.
The ad, which was released last week, features Romeo as a break-dancing cupid who connects two lovers together...with the help of a gift from Burberry.
In its first seven days the ad (which feels more like a mini-movie) has received over 4 million views and countless press coverage globally from outlets including key publications in New York, LA, and London.
This is not Romeo's first appearance for Burberry. He actually made his Burberry debut as part of the Spring 2013 campaign, a move which some outlets credited with helping Burberry achieve a remarkable 13% sales increase that quarter.
That proven sales power allowed the pre-teen to command a serious figure for his appearance in the latest Burberry ad. Romeo was reportedly paid £45K for the shoot, which only required one day's worth of work.
The ad is yet another example of how Burberry's digital strategy continues to be one of the most innovative and on-point in the luxury goods industry.
