Twitter Releases Enhanced Analytics for Advertisers

The new analytical tools Twitter has released for advertisers are very interesting if you are a business who utilizes Twitter as a method of gaining awareness and ushering customers through the purchase funnel.  We do not often think of Twitter as being a highly effective advertising tool because one needs followers in order to get a message across; however, with the help of these new tools and a particular strategy, companies can better target potential customers.  As growing businesses use Twitter more and more in a promotional sense, these new analytical tools will be able to supply valuable information.  The ability to measure impressions, engagements, new followers and retweets as a result of a Company’s social media presence is a very powerful tool.  This will allow smaller businesses to better target new customers and therefore, acquire new customers.

A short tweet can get the word out about sales, one-time offers, new products and new locations.  For the first time, advertisers will now be able to see how many users have actually read those tweets and if they retweeted those alerts.  It is fascinating that Twitter users could not previously see who had viewed their tweet or “advertisements”.  Now with the tweet activity dashboard, advertisers will be able to take a more proactive approach to their Twitter accounts and social media strategies.
